A complete video tribute
For selected stories, we'll create a longer feature that gives the person, their family, and their memories room to breathe, with submitted photographs appearing throughout.
To the world, they served. To you, they meant the world.

A living tribute for veterans, service members, and the families who know what service really costs.
I wore the uniform. I served as a paratrooper in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division and later as a Navy corpsman alongside Marines. I'm also a disabled veteran and a father of five. Those experiences changed the way I hear the words, “Thank you for your service.”
I'm grateful when people say them. But every time veterans are asked to stand at a ceremony, part of me thinks, Haven't they stood enough? They've stood watch, stood beside one another, and stood in places their families could only imagine. The ceremony matters. What matters to me just as much is whether we remember them when the flags come down and everyone goes home.
And I don't want us to overlook the people who loved them. The spouse who kept a household going. The parents who watched the phone. The children who missed birthdays and bedtime stories. Those families lived the service in ways that rarely make it into a speech.
That's why this isn't a page for ranks, medals, or perfect heroic stories. I want to know who the person was. What made them laugh? What did they love? Who waited for them? What do the people who knew them want us to remember? We have room for stories about people still with us and people we miss terribly.
I didn't create this for one day in November. I created it because the people behind the uniform deserve to be seen all year long, and because the families who carry their stories deserve somewhere to tell them.
Every uniform holds a person. A name. A family. A life that mattered long before service began—and one that deserves to be remembered long after.
We invite veterans, friends, families, and loved ones to tell the stories that never fit neatly on a service record. The ordinary moments matter as much as the extraordinary ones.
Some tributes honor veterans who are still building their next chapter. Others remember someone dearly missed. Every contribution is considered with care, accuracy, and respect for the people in it.
Share the person's name, your relationship, and what you want the world to remember.
A photograph, a lesson, a funny story, a quiet act of courage, or the way they made people feel.
Use the tribute form. We'll review submissions before public display and will not invent or embellish anyone's story.
Whether you served, served alongside someone, or love someone who did, we invite you to share a story.
For selected tributes, we may prepare full-length and multiple short videos using submitted images and stories, with permission. Please submit only material you have the right and permission to share. Do not include sensitive military, medical, or other private information. Submission does not guarantee public publication.
The people who served were also the ones who told jokes, made breakfast, taught us things, and walked through ordinary days with the people they loved. This is a place for those memories.
No story has to sound heroic to be worth telling. Sometimes the most meaningful remembrance is simply sharing who someone was.
